Yes! Our studio can be accessed via a lift, making it fully accessible for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, and pushchairs..

Anything comfortable! T-shirt and leggings/shorts are recommended, with bare feet. 

When you arrive at the studio you will be greeted by one of our team on reception. They will give you a quick tour round and show you where you can safely leave your belongings. You will then be taken to your studio where you will be introduced to your teacher. Parents are welcome to stay for the first lesson, or even part of it until your dancer gets settled.

Lessons are charged monthly by subscription on the 1st of each month. Payments are calculated on lessons per week, over 44 weeks of the year split equally into monthly payments (12), pro rata, or as agreed by LMSD. LMSD runs subscriptions through Stripe Inc.

We don’t run specific SEN-only classes, but we warmly welcome children of all abilities into our sessions. Students are encouraged to bring anything that helps them feel comfortable, such as loop ear plugs, ear defenders, or a favourite comforter. We’re also able to adjust the volume of music if sound sensitivity is a concern.

Please let us know about any individual needs in advance, so our teachers can adapt and create a supportive environment where every child feels safe, included, and able to enjoy their dancing.

For exam classes we do up to 3 sessions per year depending on class progression. We also do our shows every 18 months where all students are invited to take part.

We operate for 44 weeks of the year. We close for 2 weeks at Easter, 4 weeks in the summer & 2 weeks at Christmas. We remain open for all half terms and bank holidays.

Our teachers continually monitor each student’s progress. Class moves usually happen at the start of a new term, or when we feel a child is ready to take on the next level.

Being part of the LMSD competition team is an exciting opportunity for dedicated dancers who want to push themselves further. Students are invited to join when they demonstrate hard work, commitment, and potential in class.

To be considered, dancers must also attend ballet classes at LMSD, as this gives them the strong technical foundation needed to shine on stage. Our competition team members not only develop their skills but also build confidence, teamwork, and unforgettable memories along the way.

Not at all! For our youngest dancers, there are many highstreet stores that have a lovely beginners’ ballet range that works perfectly. For older non-syllabus students, plain black leggings, shorts, or tops are absolutely fine. We also have a parent selling group where you can often find second-hand LMSD uniform at great prices.

Please note: for acro classes, students must wear a leotard, catsuit, crop top with cycling shorts, or leggings for safety reasons – no baggy T-shirts are allowed.

When it comes to exams in ballet, tap, or musical theatre jazz, there is a set uniform. You’re welcome to purchase this in advance so you have it ready when your child is entered for an exam.

For our younger dancers, either socks or tights are absolutely fine – most families choose depending on the weather. As students get older, it really comes down to what they feel most comfortable in.

For our ballet students, it’s important that teachers can clearly see leg and arm lines to check technique. That’s why we ask for either ballet socks with bare legs or ballet tights worn under a leotard.

Stock is ordered in from our supplier and printed in-house at the beginning of each month, for all orders placed in the previous calendar month.
